Referrals

Referral Acceptance Criteria

MSP patients must have a referral to The myo Clinic from their physicians.

We accept patients that have pain or movement impairment that has not resolved on its own or with conventional therapies.

Please note that we may not be able to accept the following:

  • Active WorkSafe BC patients, unless Worksafe BC has confirmed whether or not they will cover our services.

  • Pregnant patients (for procedures) unless treatment benefits outweigh the risks -this can be discussed in detail.

  • Patients that require pharmaceutical prescriptions. We expect your family physician or other specialist will manage any pharmaceutical prescriptions you need, we do not take over the role of your MRP (your referring doctor).

  • Patients that cannot understand English and do not have a translator available.

  • Patients from jurisdictions outside Canada as we do not carry the necessary insurance.

 myoActivation Training Series

myoActivation® is a methodology to assess and treat chronic pain conditions.  It combines release of muscles in sustained contraction, fascia in tension and relevant scars with the aim to resolve pain.

Dr. Greg Siren developed the myoActivation® methodology over his career.  He and his colleagues have had 50,000+ encounters with over 8,000 patients using myoActivation®.

myoActivation® uses specific trigger point and other needling techniques and protocols based on years of experience.

To ensure quality assurance, myoActivation® has been trademarked. myoActivation® training is now delivered through the Anatomic Medicine Foundation, a BC non-profit society.

myoActivation training is delivered by the Anatomic Medicine Foundation.

Each of the 4 levels in the myoActivation Training Series include:

  • A knowledge component, delivered through an e-Learning platform

  • Two-day clinical workshop

  • Follow up support

Participants review clinical anatomy, practice new assessment techniques, and treat different regions of the body. Emphasis is placed on practical, hands-on skills. Participants will be expected to practice on each other.
